Motorcycle road racing just destroys Neckcar...

I'm sorry, but the Daytona 200 is so much better than the Daytona 500 that it's not even funny.

(And the Daytona 200 is easily the most boring race in all of AMA roadracing, because of the giant oval taking the place of a road race course. They use the twisty infield portion in conjunction with the oval during bike races, but the race is won or lost up on the banking, namely, getting up onto the banking from the infield.

Watch any other motorcycle roadracing event that's held on a pure road course, which is a truer measure of the sport, and then compare.)

Watching those big and too evenly matched front running Neckcar WalMart sleds plowing along in an unyielding freight train, even on the last lap, with nobody able to even try a last corner "stuff" for the win, well, it just goes against the spirit of racing.

Racing is supposed to involve cornering skill, and passing through late braking and the implementation of different lines into and out of corners, ie, out driving (or riding) your competitor. It DEFINITELY should involve last lap passing attempts when the racers are close enough to rub fenders.

Drafting wars and teams blocking each other and proceeding in a single line across the finish line with no last ditch attempts at passing is just not racing.

(And for all you Neckcar fans who always jump on Neckcar critics with "You don't even know the sport so shut the fuck up!", save it. I live close to Sears Point, I ride there and I've seen Neckcar there, as well as a million other times on tv. I know the sport reasonably well, and I know other forms of racing well enough to know that Neckcar is an abomination of racing.)

If you have the opportunity, check out the Daytona 200 in March, and check out six guys piling side by side into any given corner, lead changes occuring constantly even within a corner, and then try to tell me it wasn't a lot more interesting than watching today's "Caterpillar" car (how appropriate) leading a single file procession across the finish line....

I totally agree with you.
And to top it all off, Sterling Neck was all giddy that he just popped Gordon out of the race!
Did you see the short interview afterwards? He was being smiled at and Backslapped for what was obviously a major league push job into the back of Jeff.
Hell, the first time he smashed into Gordon (Like a freight train) he didn't quite get it done. (see JG into the wall)
Then he darts down 15 fucking feet under the guys left side, WAY below the yellow line, and then runs right up into him with a solid righthanded jerk of the wheel!
Christ! When Jeff tapped Harvick it was Completely innocent. Hell Harvick got so low to try and cut jeff off, he couldn't handle the air, or the line, so he freaked! Sorry, Gordon never even touched him.
Marlin KNEW that was the only way he was gonna pass Gordon. That's why you are absolutly correct on this. Neck racing is almost as bad as WWF. Bikes pull that shit? And they're into the Emergency room. All involved.
NASCAR lets this shit go on too much.
You saw how happy Marlin was AND the buds who were slapping his back afterward.
Sucks to be that good. That young. And everbody and his brother jealous. Gordon was right to stay above it. He's the best. Screw all the rest.
